Consultation Checklist: How to Get the Haircut/Color You Want

The difference between a "good" haircut and a "perfect" one usually happens in the first 10 minutes of your appointment. At Cutz & Curlz, we believe the consultation is a sacred part of the service. Here is how you can prepare to ensure we achieve your dream look.

Bring Visual Inspiration

A "trim" to one person is an "inch" to another. Photos are the universal language of hair. Bring 2-3 photos of styles you love, and—just as importantly—bring a photo of what you definitely *don't* want. This helps your Mission stylist understand your "no-go" zones.

Be Honest About Your History

We need to know what’s been on your hair for the last 2-3 years. Did you use a "box dye" once during the pandemic? Did you have a Keratin treatment last summer? Hair has a memory, and "hiding" chemicals can lead to unexpected (and often negative) color results.

Talk About Your Lifestyle

If you only have 5 minutes to do your hair in the morning, a high-maintenance pixie cut might not be the best choice. Tell us about your routine! We want to give you a style that looks as good in your Mission bathroom as it does in our salon mirror.

Understand the "Levels" of Transformation
